Idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis

Idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis causes small, sharply defined pale spots, mainly on chronically sun-exposed arms and legs.

Typical distribution

The spots are often numerous, round and small. Vitiligo patches are generally larger, may merge and follow different patterns.

Age, size, distribution and course support the diagnosis. New or unusual changes still deserve examination.
