Consider the context
Recent UV exposure, a new product, rubbing, heat or prescribed treatment provide clues. Blisters, swelling, fever or rapid spread need prompt advice.
Prevent another burn
Move into shade, cool the area gently and avoid further exposure until recovered. Combine broad-spectrum sunscreen with clothing and shade.
